CERTIFIED GOALTENDER INSTRUCTION
Program Renewed for 2006/2007 Season !
As a result of the success of this years' program, Oshawa N.A.S.C. Hockey is
proud to announce that we will be offering again next year with our hockey
program, focused goaltender instruction clinics.
Without doubt, the most common complaint we've heard over the past couple of
years is from the parents of goalies at all ages and skill levels. Their
observation is that their kids receive little or no instruction on the ice
during practices. Just like the pitcher in baseball and the quarterback in
football, the ice hockey goalie plays an individual game within a team sport. He
is the key player who must be confident and focused for the entire time of a
game. This confidence and focus can be supported and improved by good skating
and mechanical skills, proper timing, and superior eye-hand coordination.
However, focused instruction in this area is lacking.
In recognizing this, N.A.S.C. Hockey is pleased to announced that we are
offering a *NEW* program included with the cost of registration.
Commencing in October through February, once-a-month, N.A.S.C. Hockey will be
providing "goaltender only" clinics to ALL N.A.S.C. registered
goaltenders. Goaltenders at all levels of play (Novice 7 to 14 years old) are
invited to attend these free clinics. The clinics will be run by Mr. Tim Brooks,
certified on-ice instructor.
In order to facilitate the running of these clinics, we will be looking for
volunteers to assist in the shooting drills. We will be looking for Bantam and
Midget aged players to help. Volunteering for these clinics will assist in
fulfilling "high school aged" kids trying to fulfill their 40-hour
requirement.
If you are interested in volunteering, please click the link below and
provide your name, phone number, park association and age level.
It is our intention to accommodate all volunteer
requests, however depending on response, we may not be able to.
