Leafs® present the Youth Skills Competition!

N.A.S.C. Hockey is pleased to announce that it has been awarded one (1) of only
two locations this year to have the honour of hosting the Toronto Maple
Leafs® - "Youth
Skills Competition"!
For the first
time ever, this years tournament will feature an exciting On-Ice Skills
challenge as hosted by the Toronto Maple Leafs® for all players
aged Atom to Bantam. All teams registered in the Annual Swiss Chalet/N.A.S.C.
Christmas tournament will be invited during the application process to enter a
list of participants into a “lottery” to be drawn by the tournament committee to
participate in this first-ever, exciting skills challenge.
The skills challenge consists of the following activities:
1.
Puck Control (16 skaters will skate one-on-one) 2. Rapid Fire (8 skaters, 8 goaltenders
– same skaters as breakaway challenge) 3. Fastest Skater (16 skaters, 2 will go
at one time) 4.
Breakaway Challenge (8 skaters and 8 goaltenders – same skaters as rapid
fire) 5. Hardest Shot (12
skaters)
In
order to involve as many kids and as many participating centers as possible, the
skills challenge will be broken into divisions as follows:
Participants will
be drawn the week of December 5th from the confirmed tournament registered
teams' lottery submissions and winning entrants will be informed by the 2nd to
3rd week of December.
In order for
teams to prepare for the upcoming skills challenge, a complete set of rules,
course layouts, scoring sheets and events is included as part of the tournament
package download which can also be found HERE.
PRIZING FOR WINNERS All players in the Toronto Maple
Leafs® Youth Skills Competition
who place 1st and 2nd overall in each competition shall receive a
Toronto Maple Leafs® gift pack.
COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS
Decision Process Players registered in the tournament
shall participate in the Toronto Maple Leafs® Youth Skills Competition
if selected by the tournament officials.
Goaltenders’ Competition The goaltender with the fewest total
goals against from both the Rapid Fire and Breakaway Challenge events wins the
goaltenders’ competitions.
Tie Situations If there is a tie between the players
after each event, a winner shall be determined by a showdown competition in the event which the
tie occurred.
