Canada and educate yourself
on the new Hockey Canada
head contact initiative.
N.A.S.C. Hockey,
approximately seven
years ago adopted the combined model of Hockey Canada, USA Hockey and the GM Safe
and Fun hockey approach towards making hockey fun for all of our
players. We started by removing body checking from the association and
adopted a greater emphasis on developing the players confidence and
ability.
It is
unfortunate that some
associations place more of an
emphasis on game play rather
than player development. Truth
is, games are for the parents,
practices are for player
development and confidence
building.
**You MUST be an
Oshawa resident in order to
participate/play on a Select team.
Rostered Select is governed
by OMHA and is equivalent to rep hockey
when having to be resident compliant in
order to participate. Import status is
only granted to rep hockey at the AA and
AAA levels.
Richmond Hill, ON: - The OMHA is proud to support a
new Hockey Canada initiative which provides future players with
brand-new/safe hockey helmets. The program will also help to provide
financial relief to thousands of hockey parents across the OMHA.
Chevrolet launched a Hockey Helmet Program on August 19th, which
will provide every 5 year old player [Born in 2006] that registers
with a Hockey Canada Member Branch/Association [this includes the
OMHA and N.A.S.C. Hockey] a FREE Bauer hockey helmet.
Parents who are registering any 5 year olds for the 2011-12 season.
Take advantage of this great
opportunity!
McDonald's Canada
is proud to continue our support of minor hockey in Canadian

Quebec. atoMc Hockey is the only Hockey Canada-endorsed

atoMc Hockey goes above and beyond a traditional
sponsorship by providing participating teams a full set of pro-style

In addition, all atoMc teams will receive a
comprehensive team kit including:
Official Hockey Canada Atom coaching materials
McDonald's coupons for teams redeemable at participating
restaurants in Canada
atoMc posters featuring atoMc Pros Drew
Doughty (Los Angeles Kings), Marc-Andre Fleury (Pittsburgh
Penguins) and Tessa Bonhomme (Canadas National Womens Team)
atoMc team toques

PROGRAM FEATURES
Focused Instruction - "Making Hockey
Fun...Through Teaching Confidence"
N.A.S.C. Hockey is proud to be the first and the pioneers of
"learn hockey" educational programs at the grassroots level. Our programs are
"second-to-none" and we take pride in having "set the standard" in what we feel
"grassroots" educational hockey programs should consist of.
We
are delighted that our "learn hockey" programs are so well received.
They are
"often imitated,
never duplicated"
We are unique as there are no additional
charges to our participants for our enhanced hockey instruction.
All program instruction is supplied by
the league and is included as part of your all
inclusive fees.
We also feature an easy equal fee
payment structure as well...In addition
to your registration fee, ice fees are
determined by division and are equally
structured. Each participant by division
pays the exact same regardless of the
number of players on that team.
All participants receive year-end trophies and
League Champions are awarded a League Championship trophy that all
players names are engraved upon for all divisions
N.A.S.C. HOCKEY PUTS BEST FOOT FORWARD -
INTRODUCES PLAYER RATING SYSTEM
Player information captured has been entered into our league
statistical database for future years and player ratings will be
supported with our league statistics that we already have in place.
While it is our intention to respect the history of the
league and have kids play where they live, by implementing a league wide rating
system, starting 2011-2012 season, we can adopt a "best efforts" at balancing
the level of competition across all divisions.
ABOUT N.A.S.C. HOCKEY
Since 1947 we have successfully organized recreational ice hockey for the
children of Oshawa.
Oshawa N.A.S.C Hockey has been incredibly successful and has ran so
efficiently, it has often been mistaken for those programs offered by the City
of Oshawa.
In fact, our learn hockey programs are so well received, they're "often
imitated, never duplicated" . We pride ourselves in being the first and
the leader in Oshawa in "grassroots" hockey development.
Oshawa N.A.S.C. Hockey is operated solely by the volunteers in our community,
for the children of Oshawa.
N.A.S.C. Hockey Development Program
featured in Hockey Documentary
N.A.S.C. Hockey is pleased to have
been approached by Rogers Television to participate in
their documentary series of learning to teach kids the
game of Hockey.
It is yet another testament that our
programs are "second-to-none" in Durham Region and we
are honoured to have been featured as part of this
special program.

UPCOMING EVENTS/ ANNOUNCEMENTS
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON
Let's try to put House League Hockey in Perspective
Back in Novice, there was about two minutes left to play in a playoff game and I was anxiously pacing behind the bench, barking out whatever instructions seemed important at that very moment. You watch the game and you watch the clock in those final seconds, at the very same time....
N.A.S.C. Hockey is pleased to announce starting in the 2011/2012
season, our organization has been selected once again to participate as one of 4 groups to
run 50/50 draws at the Oshawa Generals games.
We have been awarded a total of 8 draws over the course of the regular season. We would like to thank
Jason Hickman and the Oshawa Generals organization for the opportunity to
build upon our great relationship and work with the number one team and
organization in the OHL.
Please CLICK HERE to view the
list of upcoming draws....
