As an extension of our recreational house league, our Select (All-Star) program will continue to offer a more competitive level of play in a structured environment.
PLEASE NOTE: Atom through Major Midget Select tryouts will take place in September

OMHA passes no more residency requirement to play select hockey
Rostered Select Team:
A team comprised of players selected from affiliated House League or Local League teams in a Centre. They must be eligible by age and may compete in exhibition and tournament games as per the Regulation while continuing to play for their House League or Local League Team. There is now longer a two (2) year membership requirement.
RATIONALE
Rostered Select Programming falls in to the Recreational Stream. Rostered Select players must play on a House League or Local League Team in order to be Approved on a Roster Select Team. There are no residential restrictions for House League & Local League players. There should not be any residential restrictions placed on players who participate in Recreational Programming,
4.4 Rostered Select
a) A Rostered Select Team is a team comprised of players from affiliated House
League or Local League teams in a Centre. All players must be eligible by age.
RATIONALE
Rostered Select teams are categorized in the Recreation Stream Programming. They are in reality an extension of a House/Local League Team. Only those players who are play on a House/Local League team are able to play on a Rostered Select Team. Rostered Select Teams do not play in a "League" nor are they eligible for any OMHA Playdowns or Championships. As such, they should not be bound by any residential restrictions.
As a result of Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA), no longer providing players the opportunity to play select at Minor Novice (7 years) and Novice (8 years), N.A.S.C. Hockey will be offering a new and enhanced development program

Minor Atom through Major Midget Select tryouts will take place in September
Oshawa N.A.S.C. Hockey will continue to offer its participants from Minor Atom through Midget-Juvenile the opportunity to play House League/Select Hockey.
For Minor Atom through Midget - ALL Players MUST register with N.A.S.C. Hockey PRIOR TO taking the ice for tryouts.
Players must either register on-line or by our in person registration that takes place in September
As an extension of our recreational house league, our Select program for Minor Atom through Midget will continue to offer a more competitive level of play in a structured environment. Age groups will be determined based on the interest and viability of the division.
Players at all levels (Minor Atom thru Midget) are given an equal opportunity to demonstrate their skills to a panel which consists of members of the Select committee and the coaching staff.
The N.A.S.C. Select Program is a privilege. All players Minor Atom through Midget who are "selected" are required to provide a $200.00 registration fee. (this fee covers operating costs such as insurance and shirts and a large portion of this amount is typically returned to the team upon completion of the season and return of the league supplied jerseys)
Approximate season cost is estimated at $800 for the entire season including three (3) tournaments.
A new and advanced focused training and instruction over and above the regular training sessions
is also being included for ALL Select teams.
In addition, also included in the Atom/Peewee age group is automatic participation at the Atom/Peewee Hockey Canada Skills event in partnership with the Oshawa Generals!
All N.A.S.C. Select teams/players from Minor Atom through Midget are carded as "Rostered Select" and will not participate in a "league".
N.A.S.C. Select teams are based on the "grass roots" concept of the "All-Star" or "Tournament" team.
N.A.S.C. Select teams will participate in "exhibition" games/series and varied tournaments.
Select teams for Minor Atom through Midget are run independent of their house league affiliates and all players are responsible to provide ice fees to both teams. All players MUST fulfill their obligation to their house league team first and are required to fully participate on both teams. Failure to do so can and will result in removal of this privilege.
Rostered Select is governed by OMHA.
Select tryouts for Minor Atom through Midget begin the 2nd week of September. Notices will be posted in the arenas/N.A.S.C. Hockey website and N.A.S.C. Hockey Facebook page notifying of when the tryouts will take place.
