CURRENT PROGRAMS
The focus of the hockey program is to promote a fun, wholesome, recreational house league ice hockey environment not only for the players involved, but for the coaches, managers, parents and league officials.
N.A.S.C. is proud to be the first, and the leader in hockey instruction in the city. As a compliment to our successes, our programs are “Often imitated, Never duplicated”.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Is NASC Hockey the most expensive, NO. Does it look this way, YES.
But let's take a closer look at the details.....
All of our kids aged Under-7 through Under-15 are on the ice a minimum twice weekly.
We also include everything for one all inclusive cost. We don't charge "miscellaneous" fees for practice ice, socks, tournaments, etc...there are NO surprises
Our Program Fees also include ALL of the following:
All instructional programs, power skating, goalie only clinics, Mini-Bits, Under-7 Hockey Schools, Under-7 Learn-to-Skate, Under-9 Scary Skate skills development, Under-11 Scary Skate skills development programs, tournament and year end trophies, and includes our Annual Christmas Tournament (Under 11 through Under 15).
You shouldn't have to pay to be a volunteer!
We pay for all of our volunteer coaching staff to be certified by OMHA. This includes Coach, Asst.Coach, Trainer, Manager.
Also included is the mandatory Respect In Sport - Activity Leader for each member.
If you were to take the time to break down the cost for each instance your child is on the ice, you'll quickly see that we're actually cheaper than our competition in the majority of our divisions AND as you can see, you get lots for your money.

MINIBITS
Our most popular program is back!
This program is designed to introduce 3 and 4 year old children to the concept of skating and the game of hockey.
Utilizing N.A.S.C.'s very best instructors and a low ratio of instructors to students, (approx. 4:1) this program is the best learn to skate program anywhere in Durham Region.
Children will be on the ice only once weekly on Sunday mornings.
No experience necessary.

Under-9
All Minor Novice and Novice players (7 and 8 year olds) will participate on their assigned age appropriate teams and continue to thrive and learn in their weekly program (1 scrimmage / 1 practice per week) however, the players are ALSO scheduled "every week" to attend their "Scary Skate hockey skills program".
Tyke 7 will be governed by Hockey Canada guidelines and will participate in cross-ice scrimmages.
The drills in the hockey school are structured in a progressive fashion with the focus always being to teach the player to be confident on their feet. Skating, skating, skating...The rest as a result, will come naturally...

Under-15
All 13 and 14 year olds will participate on their teams and continue to learn in their weekly program (6 games/per month and approximately 1 practice every 3rd week)
Games are scheduled on weekdays compared to weekends for our younger players.

FLYING FIVES
Having fun and learning the basics is the key to building confidence. In order to satisfy both areas, we offer a weekly instructional hockey school program with certified instruction in addition to the regular program for those players 5 yrs. old. All players are on the ice twice weekly.
The focus is on the players learning the individual skills of the game, in accordance with Hockey Canada's IP Program requirements
No experience necessary.

Under-11
All 9 and 10 year olds will participate on their teams and continue to learn in their weekly program (1 game / 1 practice per week) and in addition, the players are scheduled "every week" to attend their "Scary Skate hockey skills program". Also included is power skating Sundays every third Sunday of the month with Scary Skate power skating instructors.

Under-18
All 15, 16 and 17 year olds will participate on their teams and continue to learn in their weekly program
Games are scheduled on weekdays compared to weekends for our younger players.
It is our intention to separate Juvenile aged players from Midget aged players based on registration numbers.
In the event that the numbers are not there, we place a maximum of three (3) Juvenile aged players onto our Midget teams with the intent that they will participate in a mentor-ship role helping those younger players adapt to the fast paced game play.

SUPER SIX

FALCONS SELECT
As an extension of our recreational house league, our Select (All-Star) program will continue to offer a more competitive level of play in a structured environment.
Atom through Major Midget Select tryouts will take place in October
ALL Players MUST register with N.A.S.C. Hockey PRIOR TO taking the ice for tryouts.
Players must either register on-line or at our in person registration
*Registration fee is $200/child and full season program fee is determined based on the division level
